My Great Yard Sale Find

I love a country look, and found this lamp at a yard sale this summer. The lady plugged it and verified that it worked. The blue and yellow flowers matched my color scheme.

Price? I snagged it for $5.00.

In my novel, "The Moses Conspiracy," I envisioned the lamp in Ellie and John's livingroom exactly like this.

It's funny how the small details like this inform our writing and make it vivid. I just had to look up a specific birdsong to get it right for my scene. Nothing replaces that clear image or sound in our brains!

Hi Rosslyn -

Setting is important. A bare stage with actors doesn't spark the imagination as much as one with beautiful sets.

Blessings,
Susan :)

Hi Melanie -

Thanks! I couldn't believe it when I got to the yard sale and saw the exact lamp I wanted. :)

I'll be darned! Your "find" looks just like a lamp I had in my daughter's room for many, many years. It eventually had to be retired (too many chips in it).

This sure brought back some memories.

Great bargain, too!
